IDIQ (Indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity) is a type of US Federal government contract. An IDIQ contract allows for an indefinite quantity of supplies over a specific period of time. You may hear IDIQ contracts referred to as “Task Orders” or “Deliver Order Contracts” as well.

IDIQ contracts are typically used for on-call services and product needs that the government cannot accurately forecast. With that said, IDIQ contracts do provide minimum and maximum quantity amounts for products, and dollar amounts for services.

Most IDIQ contracts are awarded by the General Services Administration (GSA) or the Department of Defense (DoD).
